"Thio Su Mien (Su), who is gifted in prophetic intercession and healing." = hahaha... so nobody in the Ex-AWARE josie lau group asked her for intercession ya? So does her beloved daughter professor who is now self-proclaimed 'victim' of 'homosx' attack?? None of them asked for her intercession? Or the failure of these intercessions simply proved that God's Not on her side anymore? ha...

To Citizen,
"I guess you are the only one who truly knows if your “injury” warrants an exemption from training."
I understand your point, but I beg to differ. What may feel bearable to the individual now may lead to serious consequences in the future if not treated properly or further stressed/injured. The effects may not be immediately felt. Very often, it is next to impossible to prove the original source of the aggravation / injury, and the individual has to suffer the consequences for the rest of his life without any compensation. Given that young people's lives and futures are at stake, isn't it better to err on the safe side? To strike a balance between avoiding chao keng and potentially biased MOs, a truly independent medical board, made up of doctors who are not under any obligations to the military, should be set up to assess all cases. Also, people might be more willing to serve, and put more into their service, if they know that their well-being is being genuinely taken care of.
I wonder what percentage of the US$11.4bn 2009 military budget is set aside for medical expenditures.
We all know how well-trained and capable our medics are. Most are passed in their training to meet the numbers.
And the MOs are forced to serve - mostly very unwillingly.
How many talented doctors would willingly sign up as MOs?
