Reporters are supposed to stand apart from what they are covering, to let events run their cause, and to duly record and report what had happened. Even in a fatal/serious accident, a reporter cannot ditch his duty and go up and try to help the wounded. Simply put, a professional report will not influence and/or be put of the news they are reporting.
Are local reporters professional?
In the recently petition signing organised by Wayang Party @ Hong Lim Park, reporters did not just stand apart from the event and just record it. They went up the the freelancers, shove the cameras right in their faces.
And part-timers, being paid to manage some petition event, of course will be frightened by such acts by our media. So what happened to the news? The news that these reporters were trying to report gets influenced by the reporters as well.
More than an hour later, one of them, who had been hiding at a Clarke Quay MRT station exit, ran out and picked up the forms before disappearing into the station again.

How unprofessional.
If i am a reporter and given the task of reporting standard of service in KFC outlet, I would go there, be a bitch to the staff and then write about how the staff treat me badly.
