It is sad, something that we all know is inevitable but hope to not happen, happened.
Singapore has just got its first case of H1N1 flu virus.
It is lucky that the GP attending her was able to respond swiftly, minizing the risk of it spreading. But her family members, those in the clinic, and the GP, will they suay suay kena as well? Who knows? For now only those in selected rows sharing the same flight with her were asked to call the hotline so that officers can check on their health condition. What kind of check? Is it a full screening or just monitor to see if they have the symptoms?
While we can wayang wayang about the useless temperature scanning, no active measures were taken (yet) to isolate people who had potentially caught the virus from her. This includes anyone in the same public transport, plane (including attendants etc), everyone in the clinic she visited, her family members…
Lets see how the government handles it from here.
