In the wake of the huge controversy over the leadership change in AWARE, Dr Lim Jo Heng, along with a group of like-minded individuals from different professions including lawyers, computer scientists, chemist and even a magician specialising in children’s birthday parties, have joined hand to create an organisation for all males in Singapore, with objectives closely mirroring that of AWARE.
“We want to show Singapore that we men can conduct ourselves better and more professionally to the public,” Mr Paul, the group’s spokesman told our reporter in an interview earlier today.
“Because there is a group representing women, and no group representing men, many have had the misconception that men do not need help. In fact, in our surveys conducted over the last 5 months on forums such as HardwareZone, VR-Zone and Sammyboy Coffee shop, we realised that lots of men in Singapore were being abused by women on a regular basis.”
“Most of these abuses come in form of men being denied of various things by their partner, including but not limited to, sex, one night stand, own salary, watching soccer, magic shows.”
“Thus we have bonded together to form this group to push for rights for men. Otherwise our pride would be trampled upon by women. This is no laughing matter.”
After a 3 day closed door meeting, the group has came up with the name Your Actions We Need, or “YAWN” for short.
“We welcome all to join us in our brotherly journey. Membership is free as long as you know how to play golf,” stated Dr Lim, founder of YAWN.
Membership is expected to reach 5 digit figure within 2 weeks due to a door gift of a year’s subscription of Playboy magazine for all new members.
Uyzn, site admin of Ping.sg who contributed to the name of the group, was unable to be reached for his comment on what exactly are the “actions” needed.
